Amir Khan Gets Engaged to Faryal Makhdoom

Boxing star Amir Khan looked pleased as punch at getting engaged- at the football ground of his local club Bolton Wanderers.

The 25-year-old and fiancee Faryal Makhdoom celebrated the announcement with family and friends at the Reebok Stadium.

They swapped rings in front of 1,000 people at a lavish £150,000 engagement party with many of the boxer’s footballer friends in attendance.

It is believed Amir formally proposed and surprised his bride-to-be to be with a £100,000 diamond studded ring.

Last week, American student Faryal admitted she struggled with his broad Bolton accent, and said: “In the beginning I really couldn’t understand him.

“I was used to London accents and thought that’s how everyone spoke in Britain.”

Djokovic beats Nadal Australian Open Final

Defending champion Novak Djokovic battled past Rafael Nadal in an epic, five-set Australian Open final which clocked in at 5hr 53min - the longest title match in grand slam history. The Serb ripped off his shirt in celebration and marched to his players' box flexing his muscles and then hugging his coach.

Djokovic fought back from losing the first set to take a 2-1 lead, but he was then taken to a gripping fifth set by resurgent Nadal before winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5/7), 7-5 for his third consecutive major title.

Djokovic has now beaten the Spaniard in three consecutive grand slam finals and seven consecutive title matches overall.
