NEW MUSIC: PSY - 'Gentleman'

Listen now to South Korean rapper Psy's brand new single "Gentleman". The dancey record becomes the follow-up to Psy's massive international break-through single "Gangnam Style" which topped the digital and official charts of many countries for weeks, and had us all dancing the ridiculous, yet fun 'invisible horse' step at clubs last year. The music video for "Gangnam Style" recently reached the 1.5 billion views on YouTube. Sick!

Psy annouced via Twitter that he'd be releasing "Gentleman" on iTunes at midnight in local territories on April 12. Therefore, the first people in the world to hear, and be able to legally purchase "Gentleman" were the citizens of New Zealand. But, we all know how the Internet works, as the full song hit many free streaming outlets soon, meaning we all, no matter the time zone, or the country we live in, can listen to "Gentleman" RIGHT NOW. I personally don't think this was the most intelligent move by Psy's team. They should have fixed an iTunes release date for the entire world. Sales, at the beginning at least, will be hurt considerably.

Back to the world premiere of the single, "Gentleman" is another fun, crazy, makes-you-wanna-dance-like-a-maniac song by Psy. It's SO "Gangnam Style" though. Like a rip-off of it, but this is Psy's too, so it's okay I guess. I knew he wouldn't be exploring, or testing new waters sound-wise for the "Gangnam Style" follow-up. It would have been dumb too. People liked "Gangnam Style" for what it was, and Psy is right for making "Gentleman" not too different from it. The chorus of "Gentleman" goes like; 'I'm a mother-father gentleman!' (Lol, nice censoring). Make sure to catch Psy's massive concert at Seoul's World Cup Stadium - to be streamed on YouTube for free - on April 13 as Psy will debut "Gentleman" there live before 50,000 fans!.

Taylor Swift Stars In New Diet Coke Commercial

Coca-Cola announced earlier this year Taylor Swift would be the new ambassador for Diet Coke's new 'Stay Extraordinary' campaign and above we can see the first result of this partnertship. It's the first television commercial featuring Taylor and her song "22".

The 30-sec spot centers on the writing process of the youth anthem '22' (new single from "Red" if you didn't know!), as we can see Taylor penning the song at her hotel room, backstage of a concert, and at a café. Others scenes include Taylor Swift fans cheerfully singing the "22" lyrics. It was nice! Coca-Cola also stated their deal with the country-pop musician is a 'long-term' one so expect more commercials, ads, etc from Tay-Tay in the near future. Make sure to catch her on one of her 'Red Tour' dates this year!

NEW MUSIC: JAY-Z FT. SWIZZ BEATZ - 'OPEN LETTER'

It's not everyday you get to wake up to a new record from Jay-Z. Especially one that features production from Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. Today is not everyday though as Shawn Carter opens up about Cuba, ownership of the Brooklyn Nets, and more on this new record titled 'Open Letter'. Recorded last night as well.

Pretty simple beat but that's all that was needed for Jay to get his point across. Standout lines for me: "Would've brought the nets to Brooklyn for free. Except I made millions off you fucking dweeb. I still own the building. I'm still keeping my seats. Y'all buy that bullshit y'all better keep y'all receipts. Obama said "chill you gon' get me impeached. You don't need this shit anyway. Chill with me on the beach". There goes all the rumors about him abandoning the Nets.

2012 was a very quiet year for Jay-Z music wise with only an occasional feature here and there. If this record indicates anything, it's that 2013 will be quite the opposite musically compared to last year. New solo album coming later this year.

NEW MUSIC: Miguel ft. Kendrick Lamar - 'How Many Drinks?' (Remix)

Miguel calls upon fellow Los Angeles native Kendrick Lamar for an added verse on the official remix of 'How Many Drinks'. The original could be found on Miguel's sophomore effort 'Kaleidoscope Dream' and will now be serving as the third single. Produced by Salaam Remi. Real smooth track right here.
